Cream Tea cowl project, Part 1

Posted on Mar 12, 2013 by in Knitting, Spinning | 1 comment

I’ve been toying with the idea of writing some patterns for my hand-spun nothing too intricate, just some simple accessories which don’t require intense concentration to complete.

Now to the subject of what accessory to knit first? well considering the bashing that Wales has taken with the crazy weather I think a cowl is called for first. Your probably wondering why I’ve decided to call this post Cream tea? well thats the name of the yarn, so it’s quite fitting, although when this pattern is finished I may celebrate with scones 🙂

So I’ve browsed Ravelry to get an idea of what sort of cowl I want to design, after all inspiration is the key right? but my main reason behind writing my own patterns is so that I can sell my finished objects, and considering  many designers don’t allow for commercial gain from their patterns, writing my own for my yarns is the next logical step.

I know I want a knitted cowl, but I also want to throw in some crochet as after all, it was learning to crochet that started me off on my “woolly” adventures in the first place!

I see a pattern forming so stay tuned….

  1. That’s lovely yarn Bekka. I can’t wait to see it knitted up.
